This is a very interesting piece. It was a document (from the writing, I believe a page from an old japanese ledger), which was incised with a pattern of pine branches for use as a printing stencil. The stencil was later mounted as a small screen, under glass and within a wood frame. This screen measures 17.5" x 13.5"
