This Jojosaku, early shinto wakazashi blade was made by Shinano Daijo Tada Kuni in the Inba Provence during the Kanae period. It is very thick, wide and long with an o-boshi. The paper was given by the National Treasure polisher, Fujishiro Matsuo. It has a beautiful, fresh polish. The hamon is soshu style o-gunome midare with a lot of activity, deep nie and long, wide ashi. The hade is koitame with a lot of beautiful jinie. There is a lovely horimono (groove) on both sides with a bo-hi. The overall length is 68.2 cm, the cutting edge is 50.5 cm, the motohaba is 3.0 cm and the thickness is 0.6 cm. The shirasaya is a very high grade with inlaid horn. The habaki is stunning - embossed silver.
